Hlein Residential Home
Hlein is a residential facility for individuals who are severely disabled due to illness or accidents. The aim of the group home is to enable individuals to live as normal life as possible despite their disability. Seven individuals live in the group home, and each has private living quarters specifically designed for their needs.
Hlein residents receive medical, educational, and other services such as occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, social work, and psychology. Furthermore, there is a workshop and study facilities available for the individuals.
Residents receive personalized care with emphasis on work and social activities.
Hlein residential home was built 1990-1992 and was partly financed by funds provided by the Lions movement. It is owned by SÍBS, and is run as a part of Reykjalundur.
